Morning Roundup: Lord Sinister Is Back!

Welcome to Friday. Glad you made it. All strapped in? Good. We need you to time-travel back to the begining of the week and bring all this cool news into the past. We’ll see you next week. Highlights for today include:

1.) Babershop quartets. Now with more anachronisms.

2.) Who should be the new Beetlejuice? (Should there be a NEW Beetlejuice?)

3.) Shoes for a Frog or shoes for a McFly? You choose.

4.) Like we said. Sinister is back.

From our handy “Of Interest” sidebar:

Stubby the Rocket is the voice and mascot of Stubby once had a suggestion box, but it caused too many deaths.

After seeing the barbershop quartet linked above, I can't help but link local San Diego group Steam Powered Giraffe. They're . . . very unique. They present themselves as clockwork robots from last century, and have the skill with mimery and jovial humor to really sell that and entrance an audience. And they are very much Steampunk - they've been working the San Diego Zoo for the past 72 days, and at their last show on Monday a bunch of us in Steampunk gear basically took over the stage area where all the performers were. Sorry to be picky - but, if there are 5 people singing, it's not a quartet. It also doesn't sound like the barbershop genre - it's just acapella singing, which doesn't mean to say it's not entertaining. Their costumes are very cool.
