New Thor Trailer

Hot on the heels of its just-released movie poster, the very first trailer for Thor has hit the internet in all its thunderous, blockbuster-y glory. The movie, which opens in both 2- and 3D on May 6th, is directed by Kenneth Branagh and boasts a large and rather impressive cast led by stars Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, and Natalie Portman. From this first glimpse, the film certainly looks striking, though it’s hard to tell much else between all the yelling and muscles and exuberant hammer-wielding…but that’s kind of how Thor rolls, right? So what do you think—have Marvel and Hollywood done right by the God of Thunder?

I see what you did there.

It looks a-MAZING. Asgard is beautiful, and it may actually have a decent storyline. "Martial Arts Thor" is interesting, too.

Having never been a comic book fan, I have to admit I giggled a bit at that trailer.

And then I got a sudden urge to jump into a longboat and sail out to raid whoever got the idea of turning my ancestors gods into something I would giggle at :)

I'm surprised. This actually looks like it might be ....good?

Herr_Flick: That would be Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Seriously, the comic book version is way goofier than what you saw in this trailer.

I love Kenneth Branagh, both as an actor and as a director. I was a little wary of what he'd do with Thor, but the preview makes me want to see it more than ever.

Curious to see so many "Marvel" movies. As a "D.C" girl, I wonder why.
I have to admit that I haven't read many graphic novels other than Sandman recently. Is Marvel where the action is now?
