Not the Towers of Midnight Cover, But It’ll Do

We found ourselves Googling the Towers of Midnight cover a few times today (Why? You’ll see.) and it seemed like every time we did the below parody cover by Claire Williams rose higher and higher in the search engine rank...

We can’t wait for this book. (Maybe that's the guy who killed Asmodean?) Have a great weekend, everyone!

It's not the guy who killed Asmodean. It is Asmodean, back to teach everyone a lesson for a decade of incorrect guesses.

This has been around for a while, but I still giggle every time I see it.

@3 Yes, but that's Winter's Heart's SHADOW. He can ride whatever color horse he likes.

Claire made it to make me laugh. Clearly, I am the cause of all that is awesome and good.

Why did the crowned shadow of Winter's Heart cross the road with a sword?

To get to the other side (where an advance copy of ToM was).

Although it's entirely possible the parody cover will look more like something from Towers of Midnight than the actual cover will..

The man on a horse is actually from Brian Daley's Coramonde series (http://www.brian-daley.com/BrianDaley-books.htm) which detail the translation of a Vietnam-era American soldier to a fascinating fantasy world. Truly an excellent and forgotten series.

The person to thank, of course, is artist Darrell K. Sweet, whose very chromatic palette worked very well in illustrating the disguise adopted by the protagonist of the novel.

That answers why he crossed the road. I'm still curious as to why exactly is it that he's pissed?

@alreadymadwithparodycover:

He's pissed 'cuz there's no light at that intersection. And the traffic is terrible. And have YOU ever tried to cross the road at that intersection?!? It's like Frogger on a horse.
