From now until Friday we will feature a new wallpaper from each of the five Professional Artist Hugo nominees. To celebrate AussieCon’s (home of this year’s Hugo ceremony) artist Guest of Honor, Shaun Tan, we decided to kick-off the week with this lovely “Eric” drawing from one of my favorite stories in Shaun’s short story picture-book collection, Tales from Outer Suburbia, from Arthur A. Levine/Scholastic Books.

In the days to come, we will showcase Dan Dos Santos, Stephan Martiniere, Bob Eggleton, and John Picacio. If you’re voting for the Hugos, please take a few moments to explore their websites and familiarize yourself with their work. If you’re not voting for the Hugo, you are free to enjoy these wallpapers without the homework assignment (although you’ll miss out if you skip it.)

As usual, you have to be a registered user and signed in to be able to download the wallpapers.

Shaun is a sweetheart and half, and truly one of the most dedicated and creative people I have ever met. I will never tire of singing his praises.

Kibrika: The story is fantastic. "Eric". It's in his collection _Tales From Outer Suburbia_, it was also made into it's own book titled _Eric_ in Australia.
