12 Days of Cthulhumas: FTHAGN!

For our last giveaway, Arkham House has generously donated to Tor.com a complete set of their H.P. Lovecraft fiction! Massive thanks to April Derleth at Arkham House for this generous prize.

This includes:

The Dunwich Horror and Others
“Following a new long introduction, are these works - In the Vault, Pickman s Model, The Rats in the Walls, The Outsider, The Colour Out of Space, The Music of Erich Zann, The Haunter of the Dark, The Picture in the House, The Call of the Cthulhu, The Dunwich Horror, Cool Air, The Whisperer in Darkness, The Terrible Old Man, The Thing on the Doorstep, The Shadow Over Innsmouth, and The Shadow Out of Time. Jacket by Tony Patrick; eleventh printing edited by S.T. Joshi.”

Dagon and other Macabre Tales
“All the remaining fiction by H.P. Lovecraft, here published in chronological order together with his long essay on macabre fiction: The Tomb, Dagon, Polaris, Beyond the Wall of Sleep, The White Ship, The Doom That Came to Sarnath, The Tree, The Cats of Ulthar, The Temple, Facts Concerning the Late Arthur Jermyn and His Family, Celephais, From Beyond, The Nameless City, The Quest of Iranon, The Moon-Bog, The Other Gods, Herbert West-Reanimator, Hypnos, The Hound, The Lurking Fear, The Unnamable, The Festival, Under the Pyramids, The Horror at Red Hook, He, The Strange High House in the Mist, The Evil Clergyman, In the Walls of Eryx, and Supernatural Horror in Literature. Jacket by Tony Patrick; ninth printing edited by S.T. Joshi.”

The Horror in the Museum
“It was not the creative work under his own byline that was H.P. Lovecraft s major source of income, but the revising of manuscripts submitted by hopeful authors, young and old, that supplied enough income to enable him to eke out a living. Some of these manuscripts were in Lovecraft s own favorite field, that of the macabre, and with these he went to especial pains to produce salable work-even to the extent of completely rewriting many of them and, in the course of so doing, subsuming some of them into the Cthulhu Mythos. This omnibus collection brings together all these revisions and in the main belongs solidly in the Lovecraft canon: The Green Meadow and The Crawling Chaos by Elizabeth Berkeley and Lewis Theobald; The Last Test and The Electric Executioner by Adolphe de Castro; The Curse of Yig, The Mound, and Medusa s Coil by Zealia Bishop; The Man of Stone, The Horror in the Museum, Winged Death, Out of the Aeons, and The Horror in the Burying-Ground by Hazel Heald; The Diary of Alonzo Typer by William Lumley; The Horror at Martin s Beach by Sonia H. Greene; Ashes, The Ghost-Eater, The Loved Dead, and Deaf, Dumb, and Blind by C.M. Eddy Jr.; Two Black Bottles by Wilfred Blanch Talman; The Trap by Henry S. Whitehead; The Tree on the Hill and The Disinterment by Duane W. Rimel; Till A the Seas and The Night Ocean by R.H. Barlow. Jacket by Tony Patrick, fifth printing by S.T. Joshi.”

At the Mountains of Madness and other Macabre Tales
“Here are all the novels of H.P. Lovecraft in one volume, uniform in size with The Dunwich Horror and Others. This book contains the complete texts of At the Mountains of Madness, The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, and The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, together with The Shunned House, The Dreams in the Witch House, The Statement of Randolph Carter, The Silver Key, and Through the Gates of the Silver Key. Jacket by Tony Patrick, ninth printing edited by S.T. Joshi.”

The Rules: To get this giveaway, all you need to do is comment (once—duplicates won’t count) on this post. The winner will be selected at random. I have dwelt ever in realms apart from the visible world; spending my youth and adolescence in ancient and little-known books... I do not think that what I read in these books...was exactly what other boys read and saw there; but of this I must say little, since detailed speech would but confirm those cruel slanders upon my intellect which I sometimes overhear from the whispers of the stealthy attendants around me.

Pretty please. Cream and Sugar. All of that.

I will perform good public works with these. I will take them into nursing homes and read them lovingly to the residents. I will read them to impressionable children. I will whisper them into my wife's unsuspecting, long-suffering ear as she (fitfully) sleeps...

Wait, I said "good" back there...
