Kris Kuksi

Kris Kuksi

Kris KukisMy first thought seeing Kris Kuksi sculptures was “cool religo-steampunkery!” My second thought was, “It kinda reminds me of Andrew Jones.” It must be the prevalence of Eastern temple shapes and details and the creation of larger structures by utilizing smaller objects in repetition.

Lo and behold, when I clicked on the news section I saw that he will be exhibiting with Andrew Jones in Toronto this May. Oh Canada, you have the best animation and now you have this. I am officially smitten. (Hmmmm... I have friends in Toronto that I am due to visit...)

Kris Kuksi + Andrew Jones
May 15 - June 14, 2009
Toronto, Canada

[Thanks to Lars Grant-West for the heads-up.]

Wow!! How do you keep finding all these amazing artists? This is wonderful. Like Jules Verne and Giger in Angkor Wat.

Hey Jason -- what's funny is that I meant to twitter you while I was writing this, but it was very late. I thought if anyone knew this guy, it would be you, and I thought you'd having something much more clever to say than I would....like "Jules Verne and Giger in Angkor Wat." ;-)
