I'm beginning to think Windy Day is the perfect movie.

I went to a Hubley film night at the Museum of Modern Art a bunch of months ago:Hubleys at the MoMA

I'm a day late, but laying in bed watching "Windy Day" on a Sunday morning may be a near perfect strategy for happiness...I'm repeating myself here, but while I never think of animation as being spontaneous, my favorite animators always have a knack for capturing spontaneity and randomness in a way that seems effortless. The Hubleys manage to get everything good about childhood into these few moments without weighing it down or being sentimental at all; it's beautiful...
