Felicia Day on The A.V. Club

I’ll admit it: I have a slight pretty substantial crush on Felicia Day. I first came across her when she played Penny in Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, and she got my attention by twittering under the table at Comic Con. When I finally got around to watching The Guild, a web sitcom about a WoW guild’s meatspace exploits—which she writes, produces, and stars in—I was smitten for good (the nifty glasses don't hurt, either).

Anyway, fanboy gushing aside, I actually have a point. The Onion’s got a terriffic interview with her over on the A.V. Club, in which she talks about WoW, Dr. Horrible, growing up as an Army brat, and, most importantly, the business of making TV for the internet. It’s a pretty in-depth interview, and worth checking out, especially if you want to learn a little bit about what goes on behind the scenes of creator-crafted internet shows like The Guild.

I had heard of "The Guild" and Felicia Day a few months ago through Patrick Rothfuss's blog, but I didn't clicked through. Then I heard of "Dr. Horrible," but I didn't watch it because it wasn't available in my country and I wasn't enough of a Whedon fan to actually make the effort to get it by other means.

Yesterday however I read the interview, and then part of the blog, and watched "The Guild" and "Dr. Horrible" (twice) and "Still Alive" at PAX (multiple times), and now I'm afraid that I have a pretty substantial crush on Felicia Day as well.

Hey, for the record, most Whedon fans will remember FD as one of the Potentials from Buffy. The thing is, I kind of hated all the Potentials, so I didn't really get a chance to appreciate her until Dr. Horrible. I'm sure some Buffy-mention is made in the interview--I've only skimmed it so far, preferring to focus my nerd-crush on Nathan Fillion (in spite of his lack of adorable eyewear :)

With Felicia's beautiful red hair, I'd think she'd make an awesome Jean Grey in an X-Men reboot or even Mara Jade if they did a movie version of some of the Thrawn Star Wars books.
