Lost the Game—concept art from Herve Groussin

Irene Gallo

Herve Groussin: Lost the Game

Herve Groussin: Lost the GamePersonally, I found season one of Lost unwatchable and I’ve haven’t played a video since the Atari system,* and yet these Lost the Game concept paintings from Herve Groussin are so full of nearly-sentient foreboding atmosphere that it almost makes me want to give the show a second chance.

(Found through ConceptArt.org.)

*Not entirely true; Dan Dos Santos whipped my ass in some Wii rubber ducky game a year ago.

Love the last one. The elements let the eyes wander down to the wreckage shelter. Sharp, angular and still very organic.

Wow, I doubt I'll ever play the videogame, but these bits of concept art are amazing. They really bring home the idea that the island itself is a major character in all that unfolds.

Wow, what a find! What a fantastic use of color and light, so dramatic. I love that stream on the top one.
