When Tin moved to the States, art became more than a hobby to him. Throughout high school he drew nonstop, not realizing that he was sculpting his future career as he did so.
When he entered the art school at Virginia Commonwealth University, he finally realized that this was what he truly wanted to do and finally found peace. Throughout college, Tin entered a variety of illustration competitions, such as American Illustration, Society of Illustrators of New York (student) and Society of Illustrators of L.A. (student). He also started working professionally for The Washington Post, The Virginia Society of Historians, Brick Weekly and a few others while still attending college. Tin graduated with a BFA in 2006 and is currently teaching at VCU and doing freelance work as an illustrator. His goal is to make a mark in the world of illustration and venture out to other fields as well, such as comic books and concept art for movies and video games.
