Just prior to graduating from Northern Illinois University in 1994, RK Post started freelancing in the fantasy gaming industry. He did interior illustration for several major game companies while teaching himself how to paint with acrylics and eventually oils. RK garnered a staff illustration position at TSR (a company purchased by Wizards of the Coast soon afterwards) in the fall of 1996, painting cover illustrations for games and novels. WotC and RK parted company in the winter of 2000, when RK went on to work as a full-time freelance illustrator, contracting occasional assignments through the subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc., and as a 2D and 3D artist for Gas Powered Games. RK currently works full-time as a 3D environmental artist for Sony Online Entertainment.
RK has worked with White Wolf; WizKids; Fanpro; Microsoft, on Mythica and X Box; Lucasfilm; Alien VS Predator, for 20th Century Fox; Sega Dreamcast; Nintendo; Ballantine Books; the Science Fiction Book Club; television and animation for Hasbro; Marvel Entertainment; DC Comics; Dark Horse Comics; the History Channel; and Diablo 2 and Worlds of Warcraft for Blizzard Ent. RK Post’s collected works are available in the hardcover Postmortem: The Art of RK Post.
