Shortly after high school, Raymond had the great fortune to score a job with the video game company Oddworld Inhabitants. That job, which ranged from conceptual and character design to cinematic art direction, turned into a career that spanned all four of the Oddworld video games over ten years. When Oddworld shut down video game production in 2005, Raymond followed them to the next stage by working to previsualize film and television concepts.
In addition to his career with Oddworld, Raymond gradually launched a freelance illustration career, starting in 2001 with the covers for the Korean comic Priest. From there, he’s gone on to work primarily on books for Tor, Wizards of the Coast, and Nightshade, as well as advertising, comics, album covers, snowboards and tattoo design.
Any art related to storytelling is where Raymond’s passion lies, and as stories are a universal language of the human race, there’s little chance of that passion running dry.
