Justin Brandstater graduated from Art Center College of Design in 1990 with a BFA in illustration. He trained as a traditional matte artist for the Walt Disney studios before spending eight years with Walt Disney Feature Animation as a background painter and visual development artist.  Feature films credits include Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan,The  Time Machine, The Bourne Identity, Star Trek: Nemesis, and Van Helsing.  His art is included in The Art of Walt Disney, The Tarzan Chronicles, The Art of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Art of Pocahontas. He is currently working for Illusion Arts as a digital matte painter and is a concept artist for live-action feature films.

His illustration work regularly appears in magazines and video box covers for the gaming industry.

Justin is a member of the Visual Effects Society. He lives in Sierra Madre, California, with his wife, Kimberlee, and their three children.
