Gris Grimly
Gris Grimly

Gris Grimly can be best described as a storyteller and a creator of the bizarre. Currently residing in Los Angeles, Gris is the author and illustrator of Little Jordan Ray’s Muddy Spud and the Wicked Nursery Rhymes series.  He has also illustrated many other books traditionally for children, including a collection of Edgar Allan Poe stories and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. He has captivated a large teenage and adult following with the fine detail, humor and sophistication of his artwork.  Best-selling horror author and film director Clive Barker referred to Grimly’s  Wicked Nursery Rhymes as “stylish, funny, and gloriously ghoulish.”

Gris has also developed a following outside of the illustrated page with a t-shirt and merchandise line distributed through his website and stores worldwide. His fine art is represented by the Van Eaton Galleries, who continue to display his paintings, limited edition prints and sculptures in solo gallery shows in Los Angeles and New York.

Recently, Gris wrote, directed and produced the short film “Cannibal Flesh Riot,” which was released in November 2006 on the festival and convention circuit to an enthusiastic and promising response.  His influences for the short film include E.C. Horror comics, ‘50s “B” horror films and Ray Harryhausen.
