Enthusiastic reception and international acclaim have surrounded the imaginative paintings of Don Maitz for 30 years. His “a-Maitz-ing” artwork has appeared on book covers worldwide and he has done conceptual art for feature films such as Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Ant Bully. He created the Captain Morgan Spiced Rum character, and his work has been seen in National Geographic Publications, The History Channel, and Ripley’s Believe it or Not. Don has received two Hugo awards, a special Hugo for Best Original Artwork, a Howard Award, the Silver Medal of Excellence from the Society of Illustrators, the Inkpot Award and ten Chesley Awards.

Don’s art has hung in public museum venues across the country as part of exhibits with record-breaking attendance. His artwork adorns books, calendars, magazines, cards, limited edition prints, puzzles, computer screen savers, and other merchandise.
