In the residence halls of the Hungarian High School of Fine and Applied Arts, the friendship of Zoltan and Gabor was born of the simple fact that both were living far from home. In their freshman year, that friendship blossomed into their first collaborative project when they created illustrations for Galaktika, one of Hungary's most popular science-fiction magazines.
Each was influenced by the other's talent, style and vision. Accepting each other's critical remarks and observations, they tried to make use of each other's strengths and advantages. As time went by, their co-illustrating matured into a life-long work affiliation.
In the last 20 years, Zoltan and Gabor have done over 600 sci-fi and fantasy book covers for the biggest publishing houses in Hungary and Germany, winning the Kurd-Lasswitz Preis in 2000 for a series of covers for Heyne Publishing. They have done concept art and character and location illustrations for several fantasy RPGs, including The Dark Eye, for which they won a German Roleplaying Game Award and a German Game Award at the Essen Game Fair. Through their co-owned graphic design studio, they have served the desktop publishing needs of the marketing and advertising industry. Nowdays they do card illustrations for the Magic: The Gathering and World of Warcraft trading card games and are working on concept art for a brand new computer game. In 2006, they won a Chesley Award for Best Gaming-Related Illustration
Their works are based on freehand drawings, though they try to use technological possibilities to their best advantage. Their art is the synthesis of two individual visions with one common goal.
