Antonio Javier Caparo grew up in Cuba and studied graphic design at the High Institute of Design in Havana. Much of his early career was spent in graphic design, but he always felt a passion for other worlds and magical characters, and soon he decided to devote himself to illustration. Working both traditionally and digitally, Antonion tries to make every one of his works an intense conceptual piece with a story behind it.

His illustration work regularly appears in magazines, children and young readers books, and corporate materials in the US and South America. He was published in 2006 in Heavy Metal magazine and was a judge for the UNICEF comic contest. His passions include animation and comics.

Antonio currently lives in Toronto, Canada.
