The Australian National Science Fiction Convention (or NatCon) has released the preliminary ballot for the 2017 Ditmar Awards. Fans and members of Australian NatCon nominated professional and fan works published in 2016, with the ballot compiled by an elected subcommittee. The preliminary ballot is open to comments and potential corrections, after which point the final ballot will be released. We’re especially thrilled to see Angela Slatter’s novelette “Finnegan’s Field” among the nominees!

The Ditmar Awards will be presented at Continuum 13, Melbourne’s annual fan-run speculative fiction and pop culture convention, June 9-12. The Guest of Honor is Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant.
