We knew that everyone’s favorite trickster/misunderstood brother would return for Thor: Ragnarok, but now it’s official: Tom Hiddleston created an Instagram account earlier today, with the very first photo (of course) being him as Loki with the caption He’s back! Or, as Loki’s invoking of a human gesture would have us say, ROCK.
It’s about time that Loki returns, as the last time we saw him was 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, in which he was deviously disguised as Odin. Now, impersonation (and potentially fratricide?) pales in comparison to bringing about the Norse apocalypse, so of course Loki would rejoin Thor for Ragnarok. Marvel has released the full cast (including Cate Blanchett as Hela and surprise Jeff Goldblum), and they showed a sizzle reel at San Diego Comic-Con. Until the latter (and/or the hilarious Thor-centric mini-documentary) make it online, Loki’s smirking mug is all we have. And hopefully Hiddleston joining Instagram means we’ll be seeing much more of him in-character to promote the film… maybe an online version of the days of storming conventions?
