About a month after 20th Century Fox premiered Deadpool footage at San Diego Comic-Con, the studio has officially released the red band trailer. It’s just as NSFW as you want Deadpool to be, filled with bloody headshots, salty language, and graphic descriptions of just how gnarly Wade Wilson’s face looks after the experiments and explosion that turned him into Deadpool.
This looks like the kind of superhero origin story we would never grow tired of seeing: How a man whose body is being eaten away by cancer becomes nearly indestructible and turns mercenary, yet keeping his sense of humor throughout. Like when he asks the shady scientists transforming him, “Please don’t make the super-suit green. Or animated!” Oh Ryan Reynolds, we love that you have a sense of perspective about all this—and now you’ve gotten the role you truly deserve. (Plus, we get to see Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead!)
