It can be difficult to keep up with all of the developments that come out of a huge event like San Diego Comic Con, so we’ve bundled everything we could find below! Peruse the lists—sorted alphabetically and sectioned out into Comics, Books, TV, Movies, and more—to see if your favorite so-and-so announced something new!
Comics:
- The All-New All-Different Avengers will have an extra-large #0 issue in October to explain what is even happening during Marvel’s current “Secret Wars” event.
- Archie Meets The Ramones is coming, and in case that’s not aggressive enough for comics readers, so is Vampironica.
- Blade will return…as Blade’s 16-year old vampire-hunting daughter.
- Finally, that Chewbacca mini-series you’ve always wanted.

- Holly Black is rebooting/reviving Vertigo’s Lucifer comic. The first arc up asks…who killed God?
- The creators of Hyperbole and a Half, The Awkward Yeti, and The Oatmeal walk into a bar…
- Joss Whedon announced a new original comic called Twist, about a “Victorian female Batman” type of character.
- The Legend of Korra will continue as a series of graphic novels from Dark Horse, chronicling Korra and Asami’s relationship after the end of the animated show.
- Marvel’s Secret Wars are still ongoing, and the SDCC panel leaked some forthcoming developments.
- Milestone Comics will return with new graphic novel and mini-series adventures published through DC.
- Oh My Goddess! creator Kosuke Fujishima will publish his new series Paradise Residence in English through Kodansha in March 2016.
- Raina Telgemeier revealed her next graphic novel, titled Ghosts, which will arrive on shelves in fall of 2016.
- Dinosaur Comics’ Ryan North will reboot his Unbeatable Squirrel Girl comic…only six months after it launched.
- Vertigo Comics announced not one, not two, but twelve new comic series.
- The future of the X-Men was discussed amongst Marvel’s writers.
Books:
- Ace/Roc Books and Penguin rolled out their sci-fi/fantasy slate for the next few months.
- Brandon Sanderson, Patrick Rothfuss, Ernest Cline, Naomi Novik, Chuck Wendig, Leigh Bardugo, and Austin Grossman all played Family Feud! You can listen to the game here.
- Charlie Jane Anders and Annalee Newitz of io9 laid down some real talk about science fiction that will truly change your life.
- Faith Erin Hicks debuted The Nameless City.
- Kate Elliott threw the horns with Peter Orullian after their epic fantasy panel.
- Lev Grossman took the spotlight to talk about his concluded Magicians series and the upcoming TV show.
- Patrick Rothfuss’ The Name of the Wind is being fought over by a bunch of big name movie studios all in a hurry to make the book into a movie.
- Although they didn’t have an SDCC panel this year, Saga Press announced its upcoming release line-up over the weekend!
- Scott Westerfeld previewed his forthcoming novel Zeroes. (Don’t call them heroes.)
- Wesley Chu talked about sex and science fiction.
- William Shatner read from his forthcoming book The Autobiography of James T. Kirk and it is as epic as you’d hope.
Television:
- Adventure Time‘s panel featured some very sweet original songs.
- Agent Carter and Jarvis stopped by to talk about the recently announced second season.
- Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. confirmed what we already knew: Secret
AvengersWarriors. - Their dubsmash competition was tremendous:
- American Horror Story and Scream Queens combined their forces, their creepy creepy forces.
- Archer threatened to leave Comic Con before their panel, despite Pam and Krieger’s excellent costumes.
- Arrow‘s panel announced an expansion of nearly the entire DC TV universe.
- Ash vs. Evil Dead thrilled audiences, both with its panel and its trailer.
- Bob’s Burgers talked about how to keep the cast excited during subsequent seasons of this adorable show. (“An episode where she kills a horse with her fists!”)
- Childhood’s End, the TV adaptation of the Arthur C. Clarke novel, is coming to Syfy in December. Watch the first trailer:
- The Colony showed its debut trailer, chronicling the adventures of one family in an L.A. that’s been walled off from the rest of the Earth. (Why? No one knows.)
- Doctor Who’s panel rocked Hall H and they premiered a trailer for the upcoming ninth season.
- The Expanse Syfy TV adaptation revealed its first episode, release window, and a trailer.
- Fear the Walking Dead, the L.A.-based spinoff of The Walking Dead, hosted a raucous panel and shared a deeply unsettling preview of their own.
- The Flash described how it will live up to the promise of its first season.
- Game of Thrones had little to say and nothing to show this year, as you can see for yourself.
- Gravity Falls talked about its long-standing mysteries and showed what’s to come in season 3.
- Grimm‘s panels are anything but!
- Hand of God debuted itself. It’s that new show where Ron Perlman sees God.
- Hannibal‘s cast bore flower crowns and talked season 3.
- Heroes Reborn, the revival of NBC’s normal-people-with-superpowers television series Heroes, released its first full trailer and dropped some other footage and secrets about the next-gen setting of the show.
- iZombie‘s panel celebrated a stellar first season and revealed what’s to come next year.
- Last Man on Earth ended its first season pretty conclusively. What comes next?
- Limitless is a TV show now? Not only a TV show, but a good TV show?
- Lucifer, Supergirl, Containment, 12 Monkeys, Minority Report, and Blindspot all screened their pilot episodes, to cheers and jeers alike.
- The Man in the High Castle debuted a trailer for the Philip K. Dick TV adaptation.
- The Muppet Show panel was essentially the Muppet Show in real life.
- Once Upon a Time revealed that Merida from Brave will show up next season, possibly to combat The Dark Swan.
- The Originals panel talked about their latest season.
- Orphan Black offers the best 5 moments from its panel.
- Outlander‘s panel offered more information about the recently concluded first season and what book will get adapted for season 2.
- Powers talked about a season 2 without [spoiler].
- Riverdale will bring the cast of Archie Comics (and Josie and the Pussycats) to the CW in a live-action, hour-long episodic drama.
- Scream spared no expense, put out the first episode free for everyone to watch.
- The Simpsons panel is suspiciously missing…Spider-Pig.
- Supernatural received a surprise from its fans during the panel as actor Jared Padalecki found his own anti-suicide campaign AlwaysKeepFighting directed back at him.
- The Shannara Chronicles debuted a trailer to stunned fantasy fans. Check out the panel, as well.
- Sherlock also had a look at their upcoming Victorian special, and the panel featured Steven Moffat teasing a particularly gut-punchy Season 4.
- Teen Wolf‘s panel featured neither teens nor wolves.
- Under the Dome talked season 3. Or is it 4? Time moves weirdly under that dome.
- The Vampire Diaries dropped a trailer for the next season during their panel.
- The Walking Dead panel premiered a trailer for season 6.
- Zoo. Just…Zoo. Look at this trailer. How are we all not flipping out about this?
Movies:
- Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice debuted a new trailer featuring Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, and more, and revealed that the Green Lantern movie is officially titled Green Lantern Corps.
- Con Man, a new doc from Alan Tudyk, features nearly all the cast of Firefly and is almost literally about not being in Firefly.
- Crimson Peak strut its stuff with Hiddleston on stage.
- Fantastic Four made an uncomfortably weary appearance during the Fox panel, but offered a new trailer for next month’s film:
- Gal Gadot, Hayley Atwell, Kathy Bates, and Gwendoline Christie are all so awesome that Comic Con said “just be on a panel with each other.”
- Hateful8 came to Comic Con and brought Quentin Tarantino with it.
- The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 held an emotional farewell panel.
- Krampus is coming…Krampus is here!
- Maze Runner 2: The Scorch Trials showed the first trailer for the Maze Runner sequel.
- Pride and Prejudice and Zombies debuted itself at Comic Con, in the trusting hands of Matt Smith.
- Star Wars held an epic panel with a surprise twist ending! Plus, we got a glimpse behind-the-scenes of The Force Awakens and Leia’s new look.
- Suicide Squad officially debuted its first trailer, as well, and our first look at the new Joker.
- Victor Frankenstein‘s panel basically acted out the love scenes between James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe on stage.
- World of Warcraft came out in a huge way after three years of relative silence.
- The Fox panel highlighted X-Men: Age of Apocalypse and Deadpool….but really they were just trying to stuff every single superhero in history onto the stage, plus Stan Lee. It mostly worked!
Random Stuff:
- There are obviously a ton of cosplay roundups, but this is one of our favorites. We especially love this Jimmy Buffet cosplayer from Jurassic World – that dude has his priorities in the right place.
- Conan O’Brien destroyed at Comic-Con this year! Our favorite moment was when he rolled into San Diego on the Doof Wagon.
- SDCC selfies with celebrities!
- Kevin Smith faced an empty Hall H after Star Wars took everyone to a concert.
- io9 has determined the winners and losers of this year’s SDCC and it’s fairly spot on.
- Learn how NASA turns science fiction into science fact!
- Also NASA‘s people in space say hi.
- And finally, Chris Hadfield and Adam Savage dress as astronauts! Well, Chris Hadfield actually is an astronaut, but, he’s also dressed up as one for Comic-Con in this video!
Of course, something as large as Comic Con can’t be contained entirely within the above list, and there were a TON of great panels about books, diversity, and more that we couldn’t find write-ups on, so add your favorite news and pics in the comments below!
