The last time Adrianne Palicki was on television in a comic book-inspired series, she was supposed to helm David E. Kelley’s questionable Wonder Woman project. Before that, she appeared in the pilot for The WB’s Aquaman, which also didn’t get picked up. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, third time’s the charm, as Palicki joins Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Palicki will play Bobbi Morse, better known to fans as Mockingbird. Though very human, her physical attributes and senses have been enhanced to near-perfection—combined with her experience with the battle stave, earning her the designation of Agent 19 within S.H.I.E.L.D. (So she’s Batman, basically.) Of course, with the organization in tatters, we’ll be curious to see how that changes her backstory, especially where her loyalties lie.
Bobbi will first pop up in the fifth episode of season 2. After that, it’s anyone’s guess as to if she’ll return. And if she does, maybe she’ll bring Hawkeye (her buddy and potential husband from the comics) with her, and then Jeremy Renner will be on TV looking like he wants to be anywhere but here, and finally we will have a character on the show who feels just like we do.
