Ann Leckie’s Ancillary Justice has won the 2014 Arthur C. Clarke Award! Leckie’s debut novel, Ancillary Justice is the first installment in the Imperial Radch trilogy, and will be followed by Ancillary Sword, forthcoming in October 2014, and Ancillary Mercy. Leckie has also published many short stories in Strange Horizons and Subterranean Magazine, among others.

The novel has already won the BSFA Award for Best Novel, and was nominated for the Hugo and Nebula Award as well. Check out our review here, in which Liz Bourke details how the book “derailed her afternoon with its brilliance,” and concludes by calling it “both an immensely fun novel, and a conceptually ambitious one.” Alex Dally MacFarlane considers Leckie’s normalization of non-gendered characters in a recent installment of the “Post-Binary Gender in SF” column, saying that it’s “a delightful book in many ways, including its acknowledgement that the future of gender is not necessarily binary-gendered and not uniform in its systems of gender.” Plus, we also have Ann Leckie’s Pop Quiz at the End of the Universe!

Congratulations to Ms. Leckie!
