Stephen King just made our morning much better—and much, much creepier—with this just-released video in which the master of horror himself reads a compelling excerpt from his upcoming novel Doctor Sleep, the long anticipated sequel to The Shining (1977). In this passage, King gives us a glimpse into a mysterious, ageless tribe of wandering RV people…a tribe with a curious aversion to dogs, and a sinister affinity for certain children:

We’re not entirely clear on how this strange and secretive tribe relates to the events of The Shining, but we can hardly wait to find out. Doctor Sleep will be unleashed at long last on September 24, 2013 from Scribner.
