Wheel of Time Ebook Art, Forthcoming Novels & More Cool Things Being Auctioned at Con or Bust

Interested in advance copies of forthcoming novels by N.K. Jemisin or John Scalzi? Rare books and signed books by authors such as Vernor Vinge, Lois McMaster Bujold,  Neil Gaiman, and Brandon Sanderson? Indian speculative fiction in English translation? How about snacks from Hawaii, Israel, or the UK; homemade candy and cookies; knitted goods? Or, perhaps, a print of one of the new Wheel of Time ebook covers?

They’re all currently being auctioned online at Con or Bust, the assistance fund I run that helps fans of color/non-white fans attend SFF cons.

Specifically, Con or Bust helps fans of color anywhere attend the SFF con of their choosing; though it was begun to help fans attend WisCon, last summer it expanded, and this auction marks its first full year in the new broader phase. It’s administered by the Carl Brandon Society, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to increase racial and ethnic diversity in the production of and audience for speculative fiction.

Con or Bust’s main fundraiser is an annual online auction on LiveJournal. This year’s auction is currently live and taking bids through February 25. There are lots of books, ARCs, and other great auction offers, far more than I can name here (here’s how to browse auctions), but let me directly link to the things I mentioned above the fold:

You can bid on auctions or offer something for auction until the auction closes on February 25. And of course you can always make a donation. Finally, if you’d like to request assistance to attend a con, learn more at this post. Enjoy the auction!

Kate Nepveu was born in South Korea, grew up in New England, and now lives in upstate New York. She misses the Lord of the Rings re-read, but between practicing law and raising a (now larger by one) family, she can’t even keep up with her journal at Dreamwidth or her booklog. She still checks in on the re-read comments occasionally, though.
