Here at Tor.com, we’ve been following the last space shuttle missions with a bit of a tear in our eye. Those space shuttle journeys came to an end today as Atlantis touched down early this morning for the final time. The entirety of Atlantis’s last mission seemingly went off without a hitch and its landing was smooth. Here’s some footage of the last touchdown.

As we reported previously, all the existing space shuttles will find permanent homes in various museums around the country. Endeavour at the Los Angeles California Science Center, Discovery at the Smithsonian in Washington DC, and Enterprise in New York City at the Intrepid Air and Space Museum. The recently returned Atlantis will be staying in Florida and will eventually be on display at Cape Canaveral.

Stubby the Rocket is the voice and mascot of Tor.com. Stubby salutes Atlantis and all the space shuttles.
