Age of Legends, LLC is pleased to announce program highlights and additional guests for the upcoming JordanCon. JordanCon is the first convention dedicated to exploring the late Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time series and his rich, literary legacy. The convention will feature appearances by Harriet McDougal, Jordan’s wife and editor of his novels, as well as Brandon Sanderson, the New York Times bestselling author chosen to complete the final novel in Jordan’s epic saga.

JordanCon will take place April 17th-19th, 2009 at the Alpharetta Embassy Suits in Alpharetta, GA. Alpharetta is a suburb of Atlanta.

In addition, JordanCon will also feature several performance guests. Dance workshops and performances will be provided by Jendayi Bellydance Studio of Atlanta. Performers include The Lost Boys, a “Renaissance Rock Group” straight from 1599 and a popular performer at many conventions and Renaissance festivals around the country. We will also feature a special performance by Big City Burlesque, Atlanta’s first and only vintage burlesque troupe on Saturday night.

JordanCon is also pleased to announce that representatives from Dabel Brothers Productions will be attending JordanCon. DB Pro has made a name in the comics industry by creating high quality graphic novel adaptations of popular series, including The Dresden Files and A Song of Ice and Fire. They are best known to Robert Jordan fans for their short lived adaptation of New Spring, a Wheel of Time prequel novel. Among their current projects is an adaptation of The Eye of the World, the first novel in Robert Jordan’s wildly popular series. It is projected for publication sometime in 2009.

Further highlights of JordanCon include a costumed ball, featuring a performance by The Lost Boys, a charity auction benefiting the Mayo Clinic and numerous workshops and panels exploring the rich world of Robert Jordan’s creation. Pre-registration for the convention will enter you in a drawing for a blade personally owned by Robert Jordan.

Preregistration for JordanCon is currently $60. JordanCon membership covers all three days, all panels, events, demonstrations, concerts, performances, contests and a host of other activities. Workshops requiring a materials fee will be noted in the program.
